Arman Oganesyan: Dave's Hot Chicken

Arman Oganesyan, Daves Hot Chicken, The Founder Hour, Podcast

Arman Oganesyan is the co-founder of Dave’s Hot Chicken, a Nashville-style hot chicken joint based in LA which he started with his two childhood friends, Tommy Rubenyan and David Kopushyan.

Before getting into the food and hospitality business, Arman was an actor and comedian who also created videos on Vine and YouTube. After discovering hot chicken following a visit to Howlin’ Ray’s (check out their episode HERE) and being inspired by the concept, the three friends got together and started selling their own out of a parking lot in Hollywood in May 2017.

After just a few days of being open and an EaterLA article, Dave’s quickly became a popular go-to spot for locals and started amassing a large Instagram following. After just 6 months, they moved into their first brick-and-mortar on Western Avenue. Fast forward almost a year later, they have some BIG plans in the making including locations #2 and #3 and a nationwide franchise rollout!

Pat & Posh sat down with Arman to hear about his upbringing, how he met his co-founders, founding Dave’s, and the struggles and successes they’ve endured along the way. We also chat about their vision for expanding the concept, how they plan on scaling the business, and his thoughts on the hot chicken craze in LA.
